Amaroo Club says thank you
To mark our first year and launch the new phase of Amaroo Club, a special lunch was held at Pure South Dining on a stunning winters day by the banks of the Yarra.
The lunch kicked off with Andrew Phillips thanking all who had joined Amaroo in our first year, which saw a range of events held including an evening at The Lume in the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the September online business series, a wellbeing lunch at Elwood Bathers, a golf day at The National in Cape Schanck, and a philanthropic lunch at PWCs Southbank event space where we heard from many of Amaroo Foundation’s charity partners.
Andrew also announced the new membership structure which would make it easier and more meaningful to be a part of Amaroo Club. With an even greater focus on ‘connection through contribution’, joining now comes through making a $500 tax-deductible donation to our Amaroo Foundation, with these funds directly impacting life-changing work in education and wellbeing for children.
In the spirit of ‘life-changers’, we also heard from inspirational speakers Matt Finnis and Donna Urquhart.
Matt, a respected CEO having held roles with the St Kilda Football Club and the AFL Players Association, gave us a brilliant insight into his current work at Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership, an organisation committed to strengthening wise and courageous leadership.
Speaking of courage, there wouldn’t be too many more greater role models than Donna, who in December will be undertaking a world-first Guinness World Records™ attempt to complete the longest ultramarathon in a polar region through her Run Antartica Project. As well as completing this incredible feat for herself, Donna is also running to empower young girls and women to love and discover what’s possible for them in sport, and to break down the barriers that prevent them from participating.
